Shanti means ‘peace’ in the ancient language of Sanskrit and so our mission is to help people create more peace in their lives and peace in the world. We provide training, mentoring and support, mostly by donation, to help you develop new tools and approaches to managing anything life throws your way. Shanti Mission was founded by long-time spiritual teacher, Shakti Durga (pictured). Many people start by attending one of our meditation classes to learn how to manage and release stress and negative thinking. Others attend one of our seminars to learn how to communicate effectively or learn about the core spiritual laws found in every faith or religion. We also teach and provide a powerful complementary healing modality called Ignite Your Spirit Therapy. It is very helpful in alleviating physical illness, depression and anxiety. Feel free to visit one of our Harmony Centres throughout the week and drop-in to one of our programs. You will discover a very warm and welcoming community of people with many faiths, beliefs and backgrounds who have come together in a spirit of harmony. Path of Ease & Grace
Path of Ease & Grace
The Path of Ease & Grace seminars provide essential life and spiritual skills and tools as well as road map for spiritual development, healing and personal transformation. The series is run by donation around Australia, the USA and online. You'll learn about key spiritual concepts such as karma. manifesting and creating abundance, past lives, souls, chakras and your energy body. The aim of the seminar series is to help you create a life of more 'ease and grace' and find more happiness than you ever thought possible. Many people also find the seminar series helps them unlock or discover their true and unique purpose in life. These seminars are useful for people of any faith, as most of the content is based on the spiritual laws that are common and underpin all major religious, faiths and belief systems.... even atheists have found the practical tools they learn to be life changing.
The Path of Ease and Grace is our core seminar series and all students in the school must take the Path of Ease and Grace in order to be eligible for the higher level courses such as practitioner training or the Higher Guidance Series. This is because these courses introduce you to important spiritual concepts which provide you with a solid foundation for future learning. We offer the seminar series in two ways:
1. Small groups at different times and places throughout the week. These sessions provide a small class size and more attention so that you can truly start embodying the teachings that will bring more ease and grace into your life.
2. A series of large weekend seminars which help you learn as a large group and provide a more social experience. Many people follow-up the weekend seminars by attending the mentoring sessions.
You can start the seminar series by either taking Ignite Your Spirit 1, Dimensions of Wealth or Empowering Relationships. You'll need to take Ignite Your Spirit 1&2 to take any of the other courses however.

Mentoring, Meditations & Events
Mentoring, Meditations and Events
The health benefits of meditation are now widely researched and documented. Meditation is fundamental to life at The Harmony Centres. If you have tried to meditate before but found it difficult, you can be sure that it will be much easier with us because of the techniques and manner in which it is taught.
There are two forms of meditation, via positiva and via negativa. Via positiva is a technique often described as “active meditation” and the one we use most often at the Harmony Centres. This form of meditation approaches the inner worlds through the creative imagination and by keeping the mind active. "We keep the mind active and focused on positive thoughts and activities such as chanting, mantras and repeating positive affirmations," says Shakti Durga. "The mind eventually gives up thinking about work problems, what you're going to have for dinner or the many other thoughts that can fill our mind and prevent stillness and connection to our innerself or to the Divine. We find this form of meditation is very effective for those in the west who have tried the other form of meditation, via negativa, which aims to quiet the mind through a focus on breathing or more passive activities. Both techniques are effective and highly valuable. It's just like everything we teach at the Harmony Centres, it doesn't matter how you get there or what path you take as long as you end up at your intended destination."
Our amazing teachers also anchor strong spiritual energy during meditations, which also helps you to ‘piggy back’ your way into a meditative state with ease and grace. This may often mean that their eyes are closed or that they are using their hands to remove energy blockages and to send calming energy into the room. Think of this as a form of group energy healing that is assisting with the meditation.
The teachers may also ask you to repeat positive affirmations or what we call 'release commands,' such as "I command all negative energy and negative thoughts to leave my mind, body and energy field now." We have found these release commands are very helpful as they reinforce your intention to achieve a certain outcome which helps you (and for our teachers to help you) to release any blockages or stuck energy.
There are meditation sessions in all of our seminars and satsangs. Meditation Classes Classes specifically to assist the public to learn and practice meditation are held at each centre most days.

Satsangs
Satsang
Satsang means company of truth seekers. We hold satsangs at many of our centres every week and we also hold large satsangs in Sydney. These are great events if you are new to Shanti Mission.
One of the key ingredients in a well balanced life is to have a community of people who know us, who are welcoming and supportive, and with whom we can share deeply in a meaningful and appropriate way. We create these communities through coming together for satsang.
We teach many skills for healing and awakening of the spirit. During satsang we reinforce the teachings and create opportunities for experiential learning through direct transmission of spiritual energy, through meditation, nada shakti (transfer of healing energy through sound), chanting and through social interaction.
We practice a form of meditation that is very active and involves chanting ancient mantras from various traditions such as Hindu, Christian, Buddhist and Jewish as well as verbal commands that can help you to release and let go of old and unhelpful energy and thoughts. We try to focus the mind on positive thoughts and keep it busy which helps your mind to become still and quiet. This technique is very helpful to those in the west. For more information on our meditation style visit our meditation page.
We are a mystical school and believe that that physical is just one of the many forms of energy that make up our world. The teachers leading the satsang will also use group energetic healing to help those in the room to release any stuck or old energy. We also offer energetic blessings, which we call ‘Grace Bank’ in which trained teachers bring in the energy of the Divine and use it to help you grow, learn, heal and develop. This is similar to the blessings from some Christian priests and is simply a form of energy healing. However, during Grace Bank, we ask everyone in the room to participate by sending love to those who are receiving a blessing. You will find it amplyfies both your own blessing and by sending love, you are serving and helping others which can fill your soul with spiritual 'grace.' This is why it is called 'Grace Bank.' Many people have seen their lives transformed and become more peaceful just by attending satsangs, receiving blessings and sending heartfelt love to others, which increases their grace bank account.
Our satsangs are multi-faith and respect all traditions, all Gurus, all spiritual teachers and all religions. They are very popular and a great way to come and see and meet our community, find out what is on and feel the energy and vibe of Shanti Mission. We look forward to seeing you soon.
