Shanti Mission
Shanti Mission
Shanti Mission is a collective of visionary people who are building an amazing, inspiring organisation under the spiritual guidance of Shakti Durga. This multi-faith charity serves those looking to improve their wellbeing, put more meaning in their life, more spring in their step and more joy in their hearts. Shanti means ‘Peace’ and our mission is to anchor a Golden Age of Peace for all humanity through education and healing.
Peace begins within. Learning to de-stress and access the deep wellspring of inner calm is a vital part of creating peace on Earth. Meditation, chant, satsang, Ignite Your Spirit therapy and a raft of other opportunities to cultivate peace await you within Shanti Mission.
Knowing how to have peaceful and empowering relationships with other people, particularly difficult people or those who hold different beliefs or opinions to us is part of our vision and mission. Promoting better interpersonal relationships, whether at home, work or in the community is part of what we do. The most important relationship that we have is the one with ourself. By learning how to cultivate self love, respect, acceptance and trust we quickly see these qualities shown to us by others like never before.
Prosperity is no less important for peace, for scarcity and lack fuel insecurity and conflict. We experience that the more people experience peace, the more empowered they feel, and the more prosperous they become – spiritually emotionally mentally and materially. Tools and techniques for a well balanced life of good health, peace, power and prosperity are all part of Shanti Mission.
Spiritual Philosophy: A Snap
Shot of Shakti Durga’s teachings
The philosophy of Shanti Mission is based
upon the assumption that there is only one Divine power, which is inherently
beneficent and loving.
This creates all of that which we know as
creation, and a whole lot more besides. The model of reality that we use is
called the V diagram, which is just a
convenient way of setting out concepts. Each of Shakti Durga’s books gives more
focus to the various dimensions and explains in simple terms the philosophy by
which She lives.
Not only reality in general, but our own
beings exist in each of the 5 dimensions. The short version of the dimensions
is as follows.
Dimensions: the Divine Dimension
In the Divine dimension there is no thing.
This is the inchoate world of pure consciousness and energy, much as would be
understood as the field from which creation sprang. The Divine (by whichever
name you want to call it) exists in this place without physical, astral, etheric
or even soul form. It is a realm of great purity, peace and ecstasy, as has
been reported by mystics from all spiritual traditions (including Shakti
Durga). A Divine ‘spark’ exists inside each person and is never tarnished,
always pure and whole and Holy. In this dimension it is true to say that we are
all one, united in every way as pure energy and consciousness. Everything arises out of this Dimension from which creation sprang forth. Time does not exist in this dimension and so one could say that it all happened spontaneously and simultaneously, that it happened in a week or that it took billions of years.

Soul Dimension
The soul dimension is where our souls are
‘birthed’ (take energetic form) and where we return to at the end of our life. Now
there is your soul and my soul. We are highly interconnected but not existing
in total unity any more. Here many forms of life exist in service to the Divine
plan of life and Cosmic evolution. (evolution is not seen as Darwinian but as
Divinely inspired and this is a process in which human will, actions and
thought plays a valid role.) Angelic beings of all different types exist in
this living field of light and here our identity can be ascertained by the
frequency, vibration, light and sound that we as a soul emit. From this
dimension we plan our incarnations and interactions with soul family which will
bring us the necessary wisdom which further illuminates our souls, gained
through experiences of life.
Astral Dimension
The Astral dimension is the layer of thoughts,
beliefs, memories, expectations and mental material created by all of human
thought through all time. Our own thoughts and thinking processes take us into
the Astral field more often than we are focused in the physical world with
which we are familiar. How often do you
drive a car but you are thinking about what you have to get at the supermarket
or what you need to do when you get to work? You are astrally engaged, not
engaged in the physical here and now. This dimension is full of what the
Buddhist would call Maya and the ancient Alchemists would call Clouds of
Unknowing. In Kabala it is called Vav or the world of Yetzirah. Because we lack
spiritual training, we assume that what is in the Astral field (and fills our
mind) is real. However when we work with bona fide spiritual practices that
develop our entire being we find that this is not entirely so. There is much
more beyond the mind and part of the process of enlightenment is to be able to
penetrate Maya and recognize the permanent reality which never changes and
which is Eternal, like our own souls.
Our minds are seen not just as sense organs
into which we can stuff endless facts. Our minds are seen as instruments of
creation. The more the mind is trained through meditation and spiritual practices
(which includes but is not limited to the cultivation of both logic and
intuitive consciousness) the more we can see the results of our thinking, which
starts to materialize faster the more spiritually developed we become. This
creative process is always subject to the laws of life, karma, Divine timing
and requires the surrender by us to what will be, rather than an attitude of
seeking to control and manipulate reality for Egoic purposes. Dimensions of
Wealth book details the creative process by which humanity engages in the
process of creation with the Divine. It and all of Shakti Durga’s books and cd’s
are available in our on line shop or through
our Harmony Centres.
Etheric Dimension
Another level of our being is the etheric
or energy body. This is the chakra and aura, which is known about in Hinduism
and Yoga, and depicted in Christian art by halos around the heads of saints
(the illuminated crown chakra). The
sacred heart of Jesus is a reference to His extraordinary heart chakra, not the
physical organ (heart).
The etheric body is like a
multi-dimensional transfer station, importing energy and consciousness from
other dimensions and acting like a delivery system for life. The bigger our
chakras and aura become and the higher vibration the energy within the chakras
becomes, the better life gets and the more able we are to meet life’s
challenges with intelligent, practical perceptiveness and grounded
compassionate action. The capacity of the mind (astral field) to create is
affected by the quality and quantity (or lack of it) of our spiritual energy.
Physical Dimension
The physical world, the most obvious of the
dimensions, responds to the events which are unfolding in the other dimensions
and we experience this as the ups and downs of physical existence. We are very
interactive with personal and world events, because we are so much more than
just our amazing physical bodies. We are etheric, astral, soul and Divine
beings here on Earth to learn and grow. As we do this we play our part to the
best of our ability in evolving the consciousness of our species and being good
custodians of the Earth, nature and the world that we want our children to
inherit.
The physical plane is not seen as evil or
separate from the Divine, but part of the Divine splendor which is life. The
body is seen as a temple for the soul, and we ought to take good care of it so
as to enable optimal consciousness across the 5 dimensions.
At the end of our physical life, a part of
our soul which is like a drop of sea spray flying off a wave, ends its
incarnation and does not incarnate again. This is called Nefesh in Kabala and
is the part of the soul that we perceive Christians talk about when they say
there is only one life. The soul keeps producing more Nefesh and creating more
incarnations so that over countless lives we cultivate the grace, wisdom and
weaving of light and dark into a Golden synthesis of wholeness that is the
objective of our incarnations.
Supporting our
Growth
Each of the religions has its own methods
of supporting the growth of souls, often these methods develop in accordance
with the historical needs of the time. It is prudent for us to find the
community and spiritual philosophy that most supports our yearning for inner
peace and contentment.
Shanti Mission relies upon 8 pillars as guiding principles for life. Our approach is to help people find ways to live in peace, utilising tools, skills and spiritual practices from each of the 5 dimensions.
A school of excellence
For emerging Spiritual Masters & Peace Ambassadors
If we already knew how to have peace on Earth, then we would already be experiencing it. The fact is that while people have been talking about peace since recorded history began, we still have not attained it. To do so we need to learn and embody some spiritual basics, including inner peace, empowering relationships and the capacity to create abundance. Learning to be loving and gentle, kind and humbly present for each other is an art form.
Our Swan Om symbol, represents two things: the Om, which is a Divine symbol and sacred sound of creation, and a swan. The swan represents spiritual discernment. It is the vehicle of Saraswati, the Divine name for inspiration and grace through education, language, music, culture and the Arts. The swan also represents the journey from feeling like we are ugly ducklings, to the discovery that in fact we are a beautiful part of a loving family of Swans! We are recognised and accepted and life is never the same again.
Shanti mission is extensive, and involves the peaceful transformation of people and social institutions into their highest potential. In our training programs people learn how to delete negative thinking and to visualise the life that they would like to be living. They are then helped to access that life, calling it to them through the spiritual process of Kleem, or becoming magnetic to good things.
Our potent and transformational seminars are taught through Shanti Mission Harmony Centres. The Harmony Centres are schools for the soul, where ideas and methods for peaceful and healthy living are shared in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. Our friendly staff and volunteers comprise an inspiring team of people who are open, engaging and warm. Our seminars are full of colour, music and fun and at the same time simple but effective techniques that change your life (so long as you actually use them) are demonstrated. You have the opportunity to 'try on' new ideas, taking what suits you and leaving the rest. Vocational training for Ignite Your Spirit therapists and spiritual teachers is offered in a structured, formal learning environment.
We also offer books, CDs and seminars on a wide range of topics.
